Arborist Gary Raffel
Gary Raffel is an ISA certified arborist with 17 years experience in the tree care industry. After receiving his A.A.S. degree in Forestry from Paul Smith's College, he earned a B.S. dual majoring in Forest Biology and Natural Resource Management from the State University of NY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse.
Throughout his years of service Gary has worked at every level; from groundsman to climber/foreman to chemical applicator, and Head Arborist at one of New York State's premier Donald Ross-designed private golf courses.
Professional affiliations include the New York State Arborists, Society of Municipal Arborists, New York State Urban & Community Forestry Council, and New York State Turfgrass Association.
Gary has spoken at National Wild Turkey Federation landowner workshops on the topic of fruit tree releases and how the practice positively affects wildlife habitat as well as tree health. His services have been retained in the past by NWTF to implement apple tree releases on NY State forest lands.
Gary combines his practical knowledge and experience with his formal education to bring his customers a true systems approach to tree care. His forestry and forest biology background and affiliations add to his arborist experience, making him uniquely qualified for dealing with trees individually as well as elements in the larger environment.
